Farmer Parrs Birthday - 21/07/2010
Quite a lot has happened on the farm this week:-
Firstly today is Farmer Parrs birthday and Ivor from the pottery (who also runs' Elegance Cakes' of Blackpool) has made him a fantastic cake - with a little farmer sitting on top - way too good to eat!
Farmer Parrs close friend Syd Little has just popped in to help him celebrate and eat the cake - Syd has just got back from doing a show in Italy and has missed all the rain.
We have also had a new exhibit delivered to the museum - an amazing model of Singleton Hall - very impressive.
I mentioned last week that Bebo the Barn owl had started refusing to fly - mystery solved - it turns out that owls eat a lot less in summer and the food that we have trained him to fly towards had lost its appeal.
Oliver the sheep has just been caught red handed in the feed room helping himself - Farmer Sam found him. No one is surprised as Oliver is an old hand at sniffing out extra food wherever it may be!
The goats are their usual mischievous selves and it is taking the animal staff ages to get them from the paddocks to the barn everyday, as they keep running away - oh well, they are worth it.
We are all really hoping this endless rain goes away so that everyone can have a lovely summer holidays - fingers crossed.
