Mystery Sandwich Thief - 08/09/2010

Apologies for this late blog and I would like to have a good excuse lined up - but basically we have been busy and I forgot, OOOPS!

I have quite a lot to tell ewe so lets get started.

Farmer Samantha was really looking forward to an extra special packed lunch yesterday. She had hidden it on the top shelf in the tack room. However, when it came to 12 O'clock only the salad was left. The sandwich, the chocolate and even the plastic bag had vanished into thin air!  The list of suspects so far includes; Oliver the Sheep (famous for his feed room ram-raides! haha), Will'I'AM (one of our favourite and most greedy pygmy goats - also an excellent climber!) and Farmer Simon (famous for his super-human strength and HUGE appetite!). We have enlisted the help of Sherlock Homes and Farmer Watson to help us apprehend the culprit ASAP. Forensic samples have been sent off to Inspector Vetsford. I will just say this on the matter - I did notice that Farmer Simon only had 3 chicken burgers for lunch that day (without chips!) and I spotted him taking an indigestion tablet at 2.15pm. Now Simon we have told you before about eating plastic bags!

On a less serious note we have had a few new babies born recently. Baby rabbits and guinea pigs are a plenty. The rabbits have just started leaving the nest and are about as cute as it gets. The G pigs are noisy little characters - always chatting away about something. They give the rabbits a run for their money in the Cute Stakes. We have also had more Silkie-cross chicks hatched - still at the cute stage at present - they will soon hit a leggy tufty stage though!

We had an excellent Bump and Beyond this year - run by the Blackpool Gazette. Lots of stalls exhibited and it was an action-packed, fun-filled day for all!

The climbing frame is up and proving popular with all - most of all myself - so if ewe want a go just push me out of the way.

Farmer Ivor has become somewhat of a local hero - when he rescued a young child from impending doom on the beach. He, and his horse Myan, swam through deep water to rescue the child from a section of beach cut off by a rapid tide - he has been featured in the local papers and signs autographs at about 3pm every day. Well done Ivor!

Betty the Border Terrorist is up to her usual tricks - mainly fighting and growling - I am available for dog training advice at a small fee!

We have had some Giant African Land Snails donated to us by a local school - they have taken up residence next to the hedgehogs - come and have a look, they are great!

That's enough for this week - Farmer Parr.
